The category codes used in Field 2 are defined in the section Category Naming for Data of this manual.

 

The layer naming convention is outlined with some examples below:

 

Field 1:  Defines the discipline to who the layer belongs – A, Architect

Field 2:  Category code as defined in section Category Naming for Data of this manual

Field 3:  Category code or description of element type

Field 4:  Description of element or drawing scale to elements refer, if required

 

Some layers may contain additional description fields for clarity.

 

Generally, within each category a ‘Text’ and ‘Detail’ layer have been provided.

 

The ‘Text’ layer is for annotation items that are drawing package specific (such as ceiling, floor finishes) and may need to be controlled separately from the general annotation.

These colours are different from the main annotation, please refer to the Pen Weights section.

The strategy is to make these text items only print in colour (dark blue 160) which makes them easier to identify on package type drawings printed in colour and particularly PDF’s.

Should they be printed in Black & White, the colours are dark enough to be legible.

 

The ‘Detail’ layer is for items that are required for a smaller scale (1:20 and below) that would not print clearly at larger scales (1: 100 and above) on general arrangement type drawings.

Therefore, these items can be controlled separately.

 

In addition there are Wipeouts contained within some elevation blocks within the Warehouses, these layers are clearly defined with '-Wipeout' as as suffix to the layer name.

 

Some annotation layers listed below are not included in the ribbon plugin as they will be inserted into drawings automatically as items are added using the plugin.
